Bond Services opened its doors in 1974. Twenty years later, principals John Rough and
Chris Haenel founded a second firm, California Civil and Judicial Bonding, in order to diversify the business.
Recently this company was brought under the management of Bond Services.
In 2002, working to acquire the best resources in California, Bond Services of California joined with Northern California's most influential bond agency, Van Bokkelen Bonds & Insurance Agency, managers
of the historic Phil Simpson Agency.

One year later, San Diego County's premier bond agency, Davis Bonding, Inc. joined the team as well
to link up all of California and establish a cohesive and strong network of agents to serve the needs of all our customers.
In 2007, in an effort to expand its services to Texas, Southwest Bonding Company, LLC was formed and is now managed by Jacki Layfield. Jacki was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and for years, has yearned to return to this
part of the country. Jacki joins Bond Services DBA Soutwest Bonding Company with seven years experience as a Court
Bond Underwriter as well as multiple years as a clerk of the court.
